Dominos 2.0: Sainsbury's to launch takeaway pizza service at THESE stores

FORGET Domino's – pizza lovers across Britain could soon be asking "are you up for a Sainsbury’s tonight?"

The supermarket giant Sainsbury’s is trailing a hot pizza takeaway service as it aims to “take on Domino’s”.

Brits will be able to order a pizza by phone and pick up in store at any time.

They will have a choice of 10 and 14-inch pizzas, with stone-baked thin, crispy or deep pan bases.

There will be a range of toppings including pepperoni, spicy beef, fresh peppers and roasted mushroom.

Customers will also be able to choose sides including hot wedges and salad, as well as drinks.

It’ll cost £3.60 for a 10-inch pizza – £4.10 for an extra topping – and £4 for a 14-inch – £5.10 for an extra topping.

The service will be trialled in three Sainsbury’s stores in Redhill, Surrey, Cambridge Eddington and Bradford, West Yorks before being rolled out nationwide if successful.

Nicola Goodall of Sainsbury’s said: “By giving our customers the chance to pre-order personalised hot pizzas and pay at the counter, we are saving them time and giving them a great value takeaway experience.

"As the UK’s first supermarket to test this service, this is an exciting trial for us to listen and understand how our customers respond.”
