BREAKING: Horror bomb blast at popular Thailand resort leaves one dead and 10 injured
ONE PERSON is feared dead and 10 injured — including foreign tourists — after two bombs exploded at a popular Thailand resort.
The bombs went off at the Thai resort of Hua Hin.
Police said the bombs were hidden in plant pots and detonated by mobile phones.
Edwin Wiek, who is apparently at the scene, wrote on Twitter: "Police of #Huahin denies any death till now. At least 10 injured, 6 badly. #BombIt is not know whether any British tourists are among those injured."
He added that one foreign man with his wife and child was "badly injured", with bones sticking out of his legs, according to local eye-witnesses.
It is not yet known whether there are any British tourists among the injured.
Bombing attacks are commonplace in the south of Thailand, where an armed insurgency has plighted the region for more than 12 years.
However, according to the BBC bomb attacks are rare in tourist resorts.
It comes almost a year after a deadly bomb attack rocked Bangkok, killing 22 people.
Police claimed the bomber was working as part of a network of at least 10 bombers.
