Here's how to get FREE food and money from Tesco
 
 
 
CUSTOMERS can get free stuff and extra cash on top using a little-known loophole in the supermarket giant's policy.
 
 According Tesco policy, the chain will refund "double the difference" if they overcharge you for an item.
 
 A customer decided to use the policy after they had been overcharged £17.50 for a £12.50 gift box.
 
 Sha-ring their receipt on a Facebook post they revealed they had received £35 under the "double the difference" refund policy – and the gift box for free.
 
 Under Tesco's frequently asked in-store questions online it states: "In the unlikely event that we charge you more than what is advertised on the shelf edge or on the product, please visit our customer service desk with your receipt for a double the difference refund."
 
 This nifty tip was first revealed on the 10 Ways to Have Money website.
 
 To receive the "double the difference" refund you must, it states: "Accept the wrong price at the till.
 
 "Always ask for a receipt.
 
 "Go to customer services and explain that you believe you’ve been overcharged.
 
 "[When the sales assistant goes to check the shelf label] go with them regardless of what they say.
 
 "If staff don't offer DTD or refuse to give it to you – then ask for a supervisor or manager."
 
 A Tesco spokeman told The Sun: "If a customer is charged too much, they can make a Tesco colleague aware and they’ll be happy to help with a double the difference refund.”
 
 The Daily Star Online has contacted Tesco for comment.
