'We're ready for WAR' US threat to North Korea as Kim Jong-un preps MORE missiles


 
THE US has warned North Korea it is ready for war after Kim Jong-un launched the country's first nuclear weapons carrier missile.
 
 Rogue Kim shocked the world on Tuesday when he confirmed the intercontinental ballistic missile had landed in Japanese waters.
 
 It is the first launch of its kind for the Hermit Kingdom, giving it potential to reach US mainland with its arsenal.
 
 Commander of US forces in Korea, Gen Vincent K Brooks, said: "Self-restraint, which is a choice, is all that separates armistice and war."
 
 He continued: "We are able to change our choice when so ordered by our alliance's national leaders.
 
 "It would be a grave mistake for anyone to believe anything to the contrary.
 
 "As the combined live fire demonstrated, we may make resolute decisions any time, if the alliance commanders-in-chief order it.
 
 "Whoever thinks differently is making a serious misjudgement."
 
 It comes after South Korea fired a MGM-140 Army Tactical Missile into its waters in response to its neighbours ICBM launch.
 
 The country's defence minister Han Min-koo said he feared Kim's warmongering could see another nuclear missile launched within days.
 
 The ICBM launch was the first of its kind to be launched by the communist state, and it is believed it could reach US mainland.
 
 It is primarily used to carry nuclear weapons, with a range of around 6,700 km or 4,160 miles.
