Shopping centre rampage: Knifeman asked victims if they were 'Muslim' in bloody attack
A KNIFEMAN shouting “Allah” has gone on a knife-wielding rampage around a shopping mall – injuring eight people.
During the sickening attack, one shopper was asked if they were Muslim before they were stabbed.
Police said they are “not yet” treating the incident as terror-related.
Witness have told how people fled for the lives as gunshots rang out at around 8pm (local time) at Crossroads Mall in Minnesota, US.
“All of a sudden I heard pop, pop, pop,” witness Harley Exsted said, before adding: “I thought someone had tipped over a shelf.
“All of a sudden these people started running – I just saw everybody running our way.”
Authorities said they “have no reason to believe” anyone else was involved the attacks.
Adonis Samuels, 42, of St. Cloud, was outside the mall during the rampage where his wife Roxanne is employed as a manager at Clinique at Macy's.
He said: "She called me on the phone and told me she was hiding under the counter with a customer."
St Cloud Police Chief Blair Anderson confirmed the attacker made “references to Allah”.
He said: "(The) individual made some references to Allah and we have confirmed that he asked at least one person if they were Muslim before he assaulted them.
"We do know that there were approximately eight people transported to the St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
"That suspect was confronted by an off duty police officer and summarily shot and killed."
