Donald Trump says North Korea sanctions are ‘nothing' compared to 'what will happen'
US PRESIDENT Donald Trump has escalated fears of WW3 after saying sanctions on North Korea are “nothing compared to ultimately what will have to happen.”
The UN yesterday voted to boost sanctions on the hermit kingdom, banning textile exports and putting a cap on fuel supplies.
The decision was triggered by North Korea’s sixth and largest nuclear test this month, when it unleashed a powerful hydrogen bomb.
The President told reporters in Malaysia: “We think it's just another very small step, not a big deal… I don’t know if it has any impact, but certainly it was nice to get a 15-to-nothing vote.
“But those sanctions are nothing compared to what ultimately will have to happen.”
North Korea’s ambassador Han Tae Song told the UN that the US was “fired up for political, economic and military confrontation.”
Tougher sanctions were dropped to win of the support of China – Pyongyang’s main ally – and Russia.
Nuclear bomb scientists in North Korea have already gone back to work after spent the weekend celebrating its H-bomb.
