SHOCKING footage has emerged of Russian hooligans “in training” for the 2018 World Cup
The Daily Mirror reported that, while the teams were battering each other a “referee” stood on the fringes of the scrap screaming homophobic insults at the fighters.
The organised scrap is also watched by hundreds of cheering and shouting fans, including several children.
One eye-witness explained: “There are strict rules now.
“In the old days they were allowed to hit each other in the head but that’s not allowed now … which is a shame.
“But it’s still a brutal contest but everyone usually shakes hands at the end.”
The footage emerged after Russian politician Igor Lebedev called for fights between hooligans to be turned into an official sport.
Justifying his comments, Lebedev said: “Russia would be pioneer in a new sport. English fans arrive, for example, and start picking fights.
“And they get the answer – challenge accepted. A meeting in a stadium at a set time.”
Russia’s Ultras have also already vowed to “beat England fans to death” when they turn up for the 2018 World Cup.
Despite his pro-violence stance, Lebedev claimed England fans have nothing to fear when they come to the tournament next summer.
“We’ve taken all the safety measures, modernised legislation,” he said.
“Not a single tourist has any reason to fear travelling to our country in the summer of 2018.”
