WEST HAM, QPR AND WIGAN COMPETE FOR £3.3M SALOMON KALOU

WEST HAM, QPR and Wigan are all competing to sign Salomon Kalou in a £3.3m January deal.

Kalou quit Chelsea last summer to join French club Lille on a free transfer but the move has not worked out as he hoped.

Lille have crashed out of Europe after finishing bottom of their Champions League group and are looking to cut costs.

Kalou, 27, is one of the highest earners in the squad and has been told he is free to leave next month.

That has alerted a trio of top-flight clubs who are all looking to add firepower in the transfer window.

The Hammers, QPR and Wigan see Kalou's versatility and experience of playing in the Premier League as valuable assets.

The Ivory Coast star can play anywhere up front and scored 59 goals for Chelsea despite never being a first-choice striker there.

Clubs in Spain and Italy are also looking at Kalou - but he favours a return to the Premier League.
