Arsenal 5 Lincoln 0: Gunners cruise past minnows in FA Cup quarter-final

ARSENAL cruised into the FA Cup semi-final after brushing aside Lincoln at the Emirates.

Goals from Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey and an own goal from Luke Waterfall ensured the north Londoners booked their place at Wembley.

 Lincoln started the game impressively.

And they could have taken the lead through Nathan Arnold after half an hour.

Arnold tuned Laurent Koscielny and curled a shot at goal, but Petr Cech pawed the ball away.

The Gunners took the lead just before the break.

Walcott fired a shot low into the far corner via a huge deflection leaving Paul Farman with no chance.

Arsenal were two up on 53 minutes through Giroud.

The burly Frenchman tapped in from close range following some excellent one-touch passing in the Lincoln box.

Lincoln skipper Waterfall put through his own net just a few minutes later.

Kieran Gibbs stroked the ball across the box and Waterfall stuck out a foot to direct the ball past his despairing goalkeeper.

Chile international Sanchez grabbed Arsenal's fourth.

He picked up the ball with plenty of space to run towards goal, beat two players, cut inside to change the angle slightly and bent a brilliant strike deep into the far corner.

Ramsey strolled in Arsenal's fifth - literally.

Lincoln, who were tired and exhausted by Arsenal's pass and move football, fluffed a series of clearances.

Ramsey found himself in space, rounded the goalkeeper and walked into the net.
