BADMINTON STARS KICKED OUT OF LONDON 2012
THE four women's doubles pairs who outraged fans by purposefully trying to lose during the badminton tournament have been kicked out of London 2012.
The top seeds and favourites from China, two pairs from South Korea and another from Indonesia will no longer be allowed to compete at the Olympics.
All four pairs tried to lose their matches yesterday, in an attempt to gain an easier quarter-final draw.
But, to the vindication of the thousands of fans who booed their actions at Wembley Arena, their plan has backfired.
The Badminton World Federation had charged the players with "not using one's best efforts to win a match" and "conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport".
