TOTTENHAM MAKE LAST-GASP BID FOR LISANDRO LOPEZ TO SOLVE STRIKER CRISIS

TOTTENHAM are eyeing a last-gasp bid for Lyon striker Lisandro Lopez.

White Hart Lane boss Andre Villas-Boas is currently short of options up front, with Emmanuel Adebayor at the African Cup of Nations and Jermain Defoe carrying a hip problem.

Argentina international Lopez, 29, had been set for a switch to Juventus this month.

But the Serie A side dropped out of the running last week, after snapping up former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is now keen to swoop for the former Porto star on a short-term loan, reports L'Equipe.

Levy is likely to see his latest attempt to land long-term target Leandro Damiao fail once again, despite making a reported £20m bid for the Internacional star just days ago.
