Casemiro to Chelsea: Blues clear favourites ahead of Man Utd to raid Real Madrid

CHELSEA are the clear favourites to land Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro this summer according to the bookies.

Reports in Spain this week have claimed that Chelsea have made Casemiro one of their top summer targets.

The Brazil international has impressed for Real in recent years but could be on the move as the club eye a major summer revamp following their torrid season.

Bookmakers Coral believe that 25-year-old is heading to Stamford Bridge in the near future and are pricing such a move at evens.

Paris St-Germain are next at 7-5 PSG while Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal are also seemingly in the mix.

Coral’s John Hill told Starsport: “Chelsea may have to ****** the cash this summer if they are to bridge the gap between themselves and Manchester City in the Premier League.

“It would be no surprise to see the likes of Casemiro at the top of their shopping list.”

Spanish transfer outlet Don Balon claimed today that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has backed a move for Casemiro this summer.

They claim the Blues have already tabled an offer for the ex-Sao Paulo man ahead of the summer transfer window and Abramovich is willing to shell out to seal the potential deal.

Real, currently fourth in La Liga, are set to conduct a shake-up this summer.

And Real president Florentino Perez is desperate to make a marquee signing with PSG’s Neymar a target.

Los Blancos must, however, sell a number of their current stars to fund their spending spree at the end of the season and Casemiro could be sacrificed.

Real, who beat Real Betis 5-3 in La Liga on Sunday, face Leganes tomorrow evening.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are gearing up for their Champions League tie against Real’s arch rivals Barcelona tonight.
