MANCHESTER CITY STAR JOLEON LESCOTT BEGS OLD MATES FOR HELP

JOLEON LESCOTT has fired a Manchester City SOS to his ex-team-mates insisting: Our season isn’t dead yet.

Manchester United, eight points clear at the top with six games remaining, could be crowned champions as early as Sunday.


For that to happen Manchester City would have to lose their next two – at home to West Brom tonight and away to Norwich on Saturday.


Sir Alex Ferguson’s side would also have to win at Wigan tonight and at home to Villa on Sunday.


But Lescott is refusing to concede defeat in the title race – despite Roberto Mancini’s side squandering a five-point lead at the top.


City defender Lescott has vowed to carry on fighting – and wants to call in a few favours from his former team-mates at Everton.


The Toffees are away to United on April 22 before the Manchester derby at the Etihad on April 30.


And Lescott knows that the title race could be turned upside down with two games to go if the Toffees pull off a shock at Old Trafford and City defeat United.


Lescott, who spent three years at Goodison before a £22m move to City in August 2009, said: “There will definitely be a bit more than text messages going back to ­Goodison Park, maybe phone calls.


“It’s out of our hands now, but we can dictate how we finish in the league and how close to United we finish.


“It’s definitely not over. We’re going to keep pushing until the end. We owe that to the club and especially to the fans.


“We’re going to keep fighting until the end and hopefully some of the teams fighting relegation help us out against United.”


Striker Mario Balotelli is suspended tonight following his sending-off in the 1-0 defeat at Arsenal on Sunday.


And Yaya Toure is unlikely to face the Baggies after injuring his knee against the Gunners.


In addition, David Silva is doubtful with a similar problem.
