Liverpool outcast hits out at Brendan Rodgers: He's the reason why I left Anfield



 
 LAZAR MARKOVIC has blamed former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers for his move away from Anfield.
 
 The Serbia international, 21, joined Turkish giants Fenerbahce on a season-long loan last August.
 
 Markovic moved to Istanbul despite making 34 appearances for the Reds in his debut season in England.
 
 The former Benfica man, who cost the Merseysiders £20m, was disappointed to have been sent out on loan and believes his fractured relationship with Rodgers played a huge role in his departure.
 
 “I had no problem with Brendan Rodgers and we had a bond until, for some reason that remains a mystery to me, he changed,” he told Turkish newspaper Fanatik.
 
 “He stopped playing me and then at the start of the season he didn’t even include me in the squad.
 
 "And nobody explained to me what was going on or what his plans were, so I decided to leave.”
 
 Markovic has made 18 appearances for Vitor Pereira's side since his move to the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium and has found the back of the net twice.
