Antonio Conte warns Chelsea stars ahead of Barcelona clash: We'll suffer


ANTONIO CONTE last night warned Chelsea they’ll suffer against brilliant Barcelona tonight.

“So we must be ready to suffer without the ball, to be compact, not to lose our heads during the game.

“And then to try with the ball to do what we know - what we try and do during training.

“We have to play a perfect game against Barcelona if we want to win.

“They earned the right to be the favourites this season for what they have been doing for many years in football in the world.”

Conte’s fragile position as Chelsea boss has improved with big wins over West Brom in the league and Hull in the FA Cup.

But it could come under fresh doubt if Argentinian genius Messi, who has scored 30 goals already this season, turns it on at the Bridge.

And Conte admitted there was no easy answer to the riddle of how to handle the five-times World Player of the Year.

“We are talking about the best player in the world,” he said and missed a penalty when the Spanish giants crashed out at Stamford Bridge in the semi-finals in 2012 when Chelsea went on to lift the trophy.

Chelsea’s star player Eden Hazard did not hold back in praising his own efforts in Europe this season.

“Last year we didn’t play Champions League, but this year we are back and I played a few good games - Atletico Madrid away, Roma, here against Madrid,” said the Belgium, who has never faced Barca before.

“You want to shine when you play the best in the world. If I want to reach that level, I need to do a great game.”
