Defending Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova takes just 35 minutes to reach second round
DEFENDING champ Petra Kvitova stormed into the Wimbledon second round inside just 35 minutes.
The Czech star, who is on the hunt for her third SW19 title, crushed Dutch opponent Kiki Bertens 6-1 6-0 on Centre Court.
The destruction was good news for British fans, who are likely to get a first glimpse of Andy Murray earlier than initially expected.
The British No.1 is up after Roger Federer takes on Damir Dzumhur.
Kvitova lost just 13 points all match.
And, staggeringly, she only dropped a point on serve when she was serving for the match at 5-0 in the second set.
Kvitova said: "It was a great feeling returning to Wimbledon.
"I was very nervous but when I was standing on the court, the people were clapping, the atmosphere was brilliant.
"I am really glad how I played as well. Nerves are important, they are healthy. I like them.
"I was sick a few days ago but still played very well."
