Everton star John Stones: I'll keep taking risks to boost England prospects JOHN STONES will carry on taking risks as he bids to one day lead his country.
The Everton defender has been tipped as a future England captain by Blues boss Roberto Martinez.
After strutting his stuff against France, Stones claims he would love to make that dream come true one day.
The 21-year-old is England's best ball-playing centre half, and the Three Lions have yet to concede a goal with him on the pitch.
So he insists he will not change what makes him special, despite playing his way into trouble at times in Tuesday night's win.
Stones said: "You've got to keep doing what you know, not go into your shell. The only way I'm going to improve is to keep doing what I know, and take risks sometimes.
"It was a great opportunity for me to do that, and try to showcase myself. I have grown in stature, and can hopefully bring something different in the summer.
"The captaincy? It is so humbling to hear that, from my manager, and from a lot of peers that say it as well, and hopefully in the future it can come true."
