CONFIRMED:
Man United star rules himself out of England's end of season clashes MICHAEL CARRICK will not play for England this summer after ruling himself out of international action.
Carrick has not played since picking up a calf injury during the Manchester derby on April 12.
And he says he won't be in time for England's friendly clash with Ireland on June 7 and the Euro qualifier against Slovenia on June 14.
Speaking at United's player of the year awards ceremony,: “I thought I might have got involved with the England games but it doesn’t look like that is going to be the case because I have been out for seven weeks now and it would be too much to come back from that.
“It’s been frustrating this season with a few injuries and now I just want to get fit for pre-season and have a good season next year. “
