PEP GUARDIOLA SET TO SNUB CHELSEA OWNER ROMAN ABRAMOVICH FOR BRAZIL JOB

ROMAN ABRAMOVICH's dream of bringing former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola to Chelsea is set to end in disappointment yet again.

It is widely thought that the Russian billionaire will make a new effort to land the 41-year-old at the end of the season.

Last week, Rafael Benitez was appointed on an interim basis following the sacking of Roberto Di Matteo.

And it appears to be no secret that Abramovich is desperate to appoint Guardiola, even if he has to wait until the summer when the Spaniard has finished his year's break from the game.

But, according to reports in Spain, Guardiola could already be in the role of Brazil national team boss by the time Chelsea come calling in May.

The Brazil FA are apparently similarly desperate to recruit Guardiola, as they build towards their home World Cup in 2014.

And it is thought that a firm offer was made to the double Champions League-winning coach following the sacking of Mano Menezes last week.

Madrid-based newspaper Marca reports that Guardiola is seriously considering the proposal, with his brother suggesting that it would be a 'dream' job.
