I want Champions League football! Arsenal goalkeeper reveals why he left on loan DAMIEN MARTINEZ says he's joined Championship side Wolves to enhance his chances of playing Champions League football.
Argentine youngster Martinez is third choice at Arsenal and was farmed out to the second tier last month.
He's previously spent time in the Football League at Oxford, Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham.
And the 23-year-old is keen for his current loan stint to propel into European contention for his parent club.
"The Champions League is the target," Martinez said after he played a starring role in Wolves' 0-0 draw with leaders Brighton on Saturday.
"That's why I'm here. I'm trying to perform in every game and show the manager that I can play at that level."
Martinez was Wolves' hero in the shutout against Chris Hughton's Albion.
The Gunners loan ace saved Tomer Hemed's first half penalty and foiled the Israeli striker as he pounced on the rebound.
