Inside Man United: What Jose Mourinho said to staff on first Carrington visit

JOSE MOURINHO made a good impression on the Manchester United staff when he arrived at Carrington yesterday.

The Special One is well aware the club had reservations about appointing him due to his controversial style.

United chiefs even reportedly tried to put a behaviour clause in his contract - but Mourinho said no.

But it was all smiles when he arrived at the club's training ground.

He was pictured shaking hands with club staff and instantly tried to add a personal touch.

The Special One asked staff for their names and got many to repeat them as he looked to set off on the right foot.

It's a simple gesture but shows how desperate he is to make a positive impact.

When previous bosses were appointed, their introductions were hugely delayed.

It took 52 days for David Moyes to say hello to the United staff after being appointed.

And staff were waiting 58 days for Louis van Gaal to show his face due to his commitments at the 2014 World Cup with Holland.

Mourinho, meanwhile, was only officially announced as boss on Friday. Three days later he was in place at the training ground.
