MAN UTD EXCLUSIVE:
Jose Mourinho signals END of Paul Pogba at Old Trafford, players agree

JOSE MOURINHO has signalled the end of Paul Pogba’s Manchester United career after telling his players the Frenchman will never skipper the club again.

The Old Trafford manager broke the bombshell news to his stunned team-mates at the club’s training ground today.

He is understood to have accused the £90m midfielder of believing he is bigger than the Old Trafford giants.

A Carrington source revealed: “Jose told the players that Pogba will not be the captain because he doesn’t represent what a captain is and Manchester United is bigger than anyone.

“The players were happy with that decision and the reasons behind the manager’s decision.”

Pogba will now almost certainly be sold when the January transfer window opens.

But he won’t be short of suitors with Barcelona and former club Juventus among those who would love to sign him.

Mourinho and Pogba’s relationship has always been rocky but has hit new lows this season.

They are believed to have rowed after Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Wolves.

Mourinho held the World Cup winner responsible for Wolves’s equalising goal and blasted him after the match for his lack of concentration.

Pogba hit back later by publicly criticising the manager’s tactics to the media.

Their latest bust-up looks to have been the final straw for Mourinho.

Antonio Valencia remains the United skipper, but Mourinho gave the armband to Pogba in his absence at the start of the season after seeing him help led France to glory at the World Cup,

He was captain for the opening two games - a win over Leicester and a shock defeat at Brighton - with Valencia then resuming his role when he came back for the 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham on August 27.

Valencia was again absent last Wednesday, allowing Pogba to wear the armband for their 3-0 Champions League win against Young Boys.
