Manchester United set to offer 'double your money' deal to £70m Juventus star
MANCHESTER UNITED are targeting Juventus defender Alex Sandro as Jose Mourinho looks to revamp his defence.
The Brazilian left-back was impressive against Tottenham in his side's 2-1 win at Wembley last week.
And United are prepared to double his wage packet to £145,000-a-week, according to the Sunday Mirror.
Sandro is also wanted by Chelsea and United are aware it will take a significant offer to bring the 27-year-old to Old Trafford.
The club are reportedly preparing a £70m swoop with the inclusion of Matteo Darmian as a makeweight in the deal.
Mourinho’s scouts have been keeping close tabs on Sandro, signed by Juve in a £22m deal from Porto three seasons ago.
He has scored three goals and provided four assists in 18 Serie A games so far this season.
Juventus currently sit just a point behind leaders Napoli but they have a game in hand.
Corriere dello Sport recently claimed that Darmian has given up on resurrecting his United career and agreed move to back to Juventus.
United and the Old Lady have reached an agreement and Darmian will replace aging full-back, Stephan Lichtsteiner, next season.
The Sunday Mirror also state that Mourinho is intent on keeping Luke Shaw at Old Trafford.
But the Portuguese boss wants to recruit an experienced left-back, with Ashley Young’s days as a stand-in numbered.
Sandro, who has 10 caps for Brazil and is expected to play at the World Cup in Russia, fits the bill perfectly.
