Jurgen Klopp issues advice to fans for Champions League clash against Roma

LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp last night urged fans going to Rome to stay safe – and lock themselves in their hotel room if they feel frightened.

Roma ultras were involved in ugly scenes at Anfield in the Champions League semi-final first leg, with Liverpool fan Sean Cox in a serious condition in hospital after being brutally attacked.

And ahead of Wednesday’s return leg, Klopp said: “If you don’t feel safe stay in the hotel. Go home again and we do the job without the people. Nobody should be afraid.

“Go there, open your eyes. Hope everybody is responsible.

“I am a German coming here and don’t know anything about history.

“People ask me to explain the situation but I have never been to Rome. So common sense please.

“Hopefully police forces come together from all countries and nothing happens.

“Then Rome can say it is only a rumour.”
