Liverpool confirm news that will incense rivals: Man United fans will be livid
LIVERPOOL have upped ticket prices for their Europa League clash with Manchester United.
Both sets of fans were initially happy with tickets seemingly priced between £27 and £35.
But Liverpool have moved to change their prices for the first-leg clash.
The top price tickets will now cost £59 for the clash on March 10.
A Liverpool spokesman has defended the amendment and said the initial pricing for the game was a mistake.
He said: "The initial ticket prices for the game against Manchester United were set as part of a fixed process.
“We have since reviewed these prices and reset them accordingly."
Adult tickets for the last-32 second leg against Augsburg ranged between £27 and £35.
But supporters will now have to pay far more.
It’s not the first time the cost of Anfield tickets has been a pressing issue.
More than 10,000 Liverpool fans walked out in protest at proposed price rises during the 77th-minute of Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Sunderland.
It prompted the club's American owners to abandon the increase.
