Man United ace Wayne Rooney refuses to confirm he will stay at club


 
WAYNE ROONEY has refused to confirm if he will still be at Manchester United next season.
 
The England and United talisman faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford after becoming less influential this season.
 
 Rooney, 31, has struggled to hold down a regular place in Jose Mourinho's starting XI.
 
 He started his first game in over a month in last weekend's win at Burnley and marked his return to the team with a goal.
 
 A serious knee injury to Zlatan Ibrahimovic will provide Rooney with the chance to show Mourinho he can still be an important member of his squad moving forward.
 
 But it remains to be seen if he will still be at United come the start of next season, with offers on the table from China and the MLS in America.
 
 Rooney admits his main focus now is on helping United produce a strong finish to the campaign and he said: "You want to play games.
 
 "I haven't played as many as I'd like to have done this season and you want to be back in the side.
 
 "It was good to get the win and the goal (at Burnley). I want to stay in the team and that was a good start for me.
 
 "That's happened the last few years (being written off). All I can do is keep working. Not to prove myself, but to prove people wrong.
 
 "I work hard in training and just have to wait for the chance, like I got against Burnley."
 
 Will he still be at United next season?
 
 Rooney added: "I answered that question in February. My focus is to reach the Europa League final and hopefully win it.
 
 "And to make sure we finish in the top four. That's my aim and focus at the minute."
