Manchester United could appoint Paris St-Germain boss Laurent Blanc as their new manager, if they decided to axe Louis van Gaal.
 
 Van Gaal's future with the club is still in major doubt, despite a recent upturn in form.
 
 Top brass at Old Trafford have contemplated axing the Dutchman and have already held talks with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
 
 And Starsport understands the club will consider appointing Blanc as their new commander in chief if they decide to prematurely end Van Gaal's reign.
 
 Meanwhile, Van Gaal has revealed he doesn't know when United skipper Wayne Rooney will return to the first-team.
 
 “He still has weeks to go. He is not close," the former Ajax boss is quoted by The Daily Mail as saying.
 
 "I cannot say how many weeks, as you never know.”
 
 And finally, United will try and offload Adnan Januzaj in the summer.
 
 That's according to The Sunday People, who claim the Belgium international has been frozen out by Van Gaal because of his 'bad attitude'.
