Man United star makes David De Gea to Real Madrid claim


 
ANDER HERRERA has urged David De Gea to stay at Manchester United.
 
The Spain international is a long-term target for Real Madrid.
 
 De Gea, 26, nearly joined the La Liga giants in 2015 and Real will return with another bid this summer.
 
 Reports even suggest United boss Jose Mourinho is planning for life without his star man and is targeting a replacement.
 
 But the goalkeeper's team-mate Herrera has backed De Gea to stay at Old Trafford.
 
 When asked by Spanish newspaper Marca whether the stopper will leave United, Herrera said: “Hopefully not.
 
 “He is the best goalkeeper of the Premier League for me, and for many people. He was named again the best goalkeeper of the league, and already it goes four years.
 
 “He’s been at the club for six years. He’s very close to the number of games Van der Sar played, and can become a legend.
 
 “People here love him very much. I hope so (that he stays).
 
 “There are few goalkeepers in the world who give you points and David is one of them.”
