Liverpool ready to move on from Nabil Fekir: £150m bid prepared for Real Madrid star

LIVERPOOL are reportedly ready to move on from the Nabil Fekir saga by placing a whopping £150m bid on Real Madrid star Marco Asensio.

The Reds had been chasing the Lyon playmaker all summer and had been close to sealing the deal.

A £52m bid had been accepted and Fekir had even gone as far as conducting interviews for LFC TV.

But the French club pulled out of the transfer after issuing a statement on social media in msyterious circumstances.

Reports have emerged that there were problems in the medical over a niggling knee problem.

And whether or not Jurgen Klopp will revisit the deal remains to be seen, but reports in Spain seem to suggest that Liverpool are past a move for the 24-year-old.

Instead, Mundo Deportivo have sensationally claimed that Real starlet Asensio is firmly in the Anfield outfit's sights – with a bid of £150m being prepared.

Asensio would provide the creative spark behind Liverpool's formidable top trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Klopp still has a large chunk of the Philippe Coutinho money to use, having spent £40m on Fabinho last month.

The Brazilian playmaker left for Barcelona in January for £142m, and Mundo Deportivo report that the Reds are willing to part with that cash to sign up Asensio.

The 22-year-old made 53 appearances for Los Blancos last season and is currently with Spain at the World Cup.

Julen Lopetegui is a huge fan of the former Mallorca man though, and is understood to not entertain any bids for him.

Asensio has a staggering £615m release clause and the former Spain manager sees the youngster as a massive part of his Real plans.
