Cenk Tosun to sign for Everton TODAY: £27m deal done, but registration too late for derby

CENK TOSUN will complete his £27m move to Everton today.

Reports in Turkey suggest the Besiktas forward has agreed a four-and-a-half year deal worth around £125,000 a week and that official confirmation will come at 5pm.

But it is understood that he has not been registered in time to face Liverpool in the FA Cup third-round tie tonight at Anfield.

Tosun, 26, will have to wait for his debut but has finally secured his dream move to England.

Everton agreed a fee with Besiktas after talks in London on Wednesday night.

But they then had to finalise personal terms with the Turkish striker which prove not as straightforward as they hoped.

Sam Allardyce is excited about landing the striker.

“We can’t have researched anymore and can’t have looked at the qualities of the player," he said.

"Not just from a talent or a goalscoring point of view, but also a resilient and a mentality point of view.

“This lad looks like he’s got a huge, strong mentality and a good pedigree.

“He is a player who is desperate to come to play in the Premier League so I like that sound of all of what he is saying and what he has done in the past as a footballer, particularly recently as he is Turkey’s No.1 striker."
