Louis van Gaal: Why Manchester United fans are leaving Old Trafford early LOUIS VAN GAAL reckons beating the traffic might be why Manchester United fans are leaving Old Trafford early.
Supporters flooded out of the ground 15 minutes before the end of United's woeful 1-0 FA Cup win on Saturday.
Fans are getting fed-up with the dross being served up by Van Gaal's men, who have won just two of their last 10 outings.
To make matters worse United have also failed to score a single goal in the first half of their last 10 home games.
But Van Gaal is not convinced the stadium is emptying because of the poor football on show.
Although he does admit worries United can actually score is a possible reason.
He said: "They might be thinking that we could not score.
"Or maybe because of the traffic to leave a few minutes earlier. There are many reasons to leave the stadium.
"When I was looking at matches to analyse our opponent then I leave the stadium five minutes before.
"You never know the reason. You can be very negative but we are in the next round and have won two matches out of a very bad period.
"In a match you need two teams to play."
United, meanwhile, who travel to Newcastle tomorrow, will be without Bastian Schweinsteiger due to a knee problem.
