Brazilian team basketball in wheelchairs among the ten world's best 
The Championship, the premier event for basketball in wheelchairs preceding the Paralympic Games in London in 2012, ended this weekend in Birmingham, England, with U.S. leadership.
After a week of competition came to an end this weekend at the World Wheelchair Basketball. The Americans secured the title of best in the world by beating the German in a very balanced match, by 55-53. Earlier, in his last match, Brazil lost to Mexico by 73 to 33.
The Brazilian team participated in this championship with a young team, coming in 10th place overall female. In males, the title remained with the Australians, who won the French by 79-69.
Bringing together the best players in the game, the competition is the main event for basketball in wheelchairs preceding the Paralympic Games in London in 2012.
Besides Brazil, participating in the World the Netherlands, Britain, Japan, Australia and Germany, Mexico, United States, Canada, China, Poland, Italy, France, Turkey, Algeria and South Korea
The game
Championship play both the female and the male category. Each team will have five players on the court. The classification of each player is from 4.5 to 0.5 (severe disability), where each team can not exceed 14 points. In the game, the goal of each team's score in the opponent's basket, to protect your basket and prevent the other team to gain control of the ball. The measures of the court and the height of the baskets are the same as in basketball tradition.
