LIVERPOOL 3 - EVERTON 0: HAT'S IT STEVEN GERRARD
CAPTAIN fantastic Steven Gerrard led by example with a superb hat-trick on his 400th Premier League appearance to settle the Merseyside derby.
Back after injury, the England midfielder became the first Liverpool player in 76 years to hit three against bitter rivals Everton at Anfield.
His first came with a sublime looping finish from the edge of the box in the 34th minute.
And despite hobbling off at half time, Gerrard bounced back to grab a second six minutes after the restart to put Liverpool in control.
Gerrard claimed the match ball in added time to make it a miserable night for Everton boss David Moyes on the eve of his 10th anniversary in charge.
