CHELSEA FAIL WITH £20M BID FOR FIORENTINA'S STEVAN JOVETIC
CHELSEA have had a £20million bid for Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetic rejected, according to reports.
The Serie A side are keen to hold on to the 22-year-old striker and have snubbed an offer from Blues owner Roman Abramovich, report Italian newspaper La Gazetta dello Sport.
With the Montenegro international having signed a new five-year-deal with Fiorentina in October last year, it is thought Chelsea will have to dig deeper if they are to prise Jovetic away from Florence.
Having been compared to Italy legend Roberto Baggio, the talented youngster is being targeted by a host of top clubs across Europe.
Chelsea have already spent £32million on Belgian starlet Eden Hazard as well as bringing in fellow youngsters Marko Marin and Kevin de Bruyne.
But it appears Abramovich is intent on adding more youth to Chelsea's squad as he looks to give Roberto Di Matteo the tools to mount a Premier League title challenge next year.
