Jamie Carragher: Why Louis van Gaal was better for Man United than Jose Mourinho


  LOUIS VAN GAAL performed better at Manchester United than Jose Mourinho has done this season.
 
That’s according to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher who believes the Special One has it all to do at Old Trafford.
 
 United suffered another draw in the Premier League yesterday against West Ham and Mourinho was sent to the stands for his reaction to Paul Pogba correctly being booked for diving.
 
 Carragher told Sky Sports: “The squad should be getting better results than they are.
 
 “They've missed a lot of chances this season, which is nothing like the football of last year.
 
 “Man United fans were disappointed last year with the style of play but the results were better.
 
 “And no matter what you say about Louis van Gaal, he always got results in the big games.
 
 “We always say the same about Jose Mourinho but over the last couple of years that's been lacking.
 
 “They need to get back on track quickly.”
 
 United return to action on Wednesday night when they face West Ham in an EFL Cup quarter-final.
 
 After that Mourinho’s men travel to Everton as they look to close the gap on the top four of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.
