Arsenal's £25m transfer plan to be wrecked by deal development


 
ARSENAL are set to be frustrated in their chase for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
 
According to the Mirror, Gunners chiefs have targeted the 26-year-old as Nacho Monreal's long-term replacement.
 
 It's claimed Arsenal were set to launch a £25m approach for Brazil international Sandro.
 
 But Juventus will hand him a new deal.
 
 The Italian champions have held advanced talks with Sandro's agent.
 
 And he is set to see his wages boosted to £70,000-a-week with the new deal expiring in 2022.
 
 Sandro joined Juventus from Portuguese giants Porto in 2015 and has made 62 appearances.
 
 Monreal, 31, remains Arsenal's first-choice at left-back but has struggled for form this term.
 
 He is under contract at the Emirates Stadium until 2019 while there are also doubts over Kieran Gibbs' long-term future.
