Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger URGED to sign Chelsea star Nemanja Matic FORMER Arsenal star Ray Parlour believes Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic would be "the perfect player" for the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger is under-fire following last week's horror shows against Anderlecht and Swansea but Parlour, who played for the club from 1989 and 2004, reckons Matic could add much-needed steel and organisation to Arsenal's midfield.
He told Sky Sports: "I think he needs Matic from Chelsea, he'd be the perfect player to have just sit in front of the back four and that's what he's got to look at.
"That's what he's got to look at, he's got to look at that defensive midfielder, he's got to look at another centre half and buy defensive players now and good characters as well who can really get into players.
"I used to play in front of Lee Dixon and Tony Adams and when we were up against it they would put you in positions, exactly where they wanted you to be.
"That's where they've got to get better."
The Gunners have been linked with January moves for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho, Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels and Tottenham centre-back Vlad Chiriches.
