James DeGale: I will be Britain's boxing king if I beat Badou Jack next month


 
JAMES DEGALE reckons beating Badou Jack will see him crowned Britain’s boxing king ahead of Anthony Joshua and Carl Frampton.
 
 The Londoner faces the US-based Swede in a world super-middleweight title unification clash in New York next month.
 
 DeGale, who has only made one defence of his IBF belt this year, will be considered undisputed No.1 in his division if he beats WBC champ Jack.
 
 Joshua has won three world heavyweight title fights this year and has his own unification clash against Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium on April 29.
 
 And Belfast’s unbeaten Frampton won a unification fight against Scott Quigg in February before stepping up a division to beat WBA featherweight champion Leo Santa Cruz.
 
 However, DeGale said: “I would say it would make me number one, to unify the titles in New York, it doesn’t get better than that.
 
 “It would make me top of the pile.”
