ROY HODGSON'S DANNY WELBECK JOY


DANNY WELBECK sent England into Euro 2012 on a winning note – and put a huge smile on Roy Hodgson’s face.

Welbeck teamed up with Manchester United colleague Ashley Young to score the only goal in a hard-earned victory over Belgium at Wembley.

A delighted Hodgson, who has won his first two games in charge of England, said: “I have to be more than happy with another victory.”

The only downside for England was injury to Gary Cahill, who has a suspected broken jaw after crashing into goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Hodgson added: “Cahill is more of a concern simply because it is a jaw injury. We are desperately hoping that the CT scan shows no fracture and that it is a bruising situation.”
