Ronnie O’Sullivan: Snooker star hints he could retire from playing

RONNIE O’SULLIVAN admits snooker punditry is more enjoyable than playing.

The five-time world champion spent time working alongside great mate Jimmy White for Eurosport last week at the Northern Ireland Open.

And O’Sullivan, who suffered an early exit from the tournament, says life in the commentary box is funner than pulling out the cue himself.

He tweeted: “I'm loving being a pundit. It's better then playing.

“Seriously it's the best job in snooker. 128 players is a nightmare - any other jobs going about?”

O’Sullivan, 40, has often declared his intentions to retire from playing despite being snooker’s king pin.

Last year he said he had no interest in being snooker’s “top man” while in 2013 he said the World Championship could be his last major event.

But three years later he’s still playing and O’Sullivan is the bookies’ favourite for the UK Championship, which started this week.

O’Sullivan also revealed on Twitter he is pondering a move into coaching.

He added: “Thinking of coaching some decent snooker players too. That is fun.

“On my tombstone they won't say he should have played on a lot longer at snooker. Well I hope it doesn't haha.”
