Arsene Wenger gives update on Arsenal's transfer activity: I rate Dimitri Payet


 
ARSENE WENGER has admitted he admires Dimitri Payet - but has insisted Arsenal will be having a quiet month.
 
The Gunners have signed Cohen Bramall from non-league Hednesford Town but a major signing is unlikely.
 
 Payet is up for grabs after telling West Ham he wants to leave east London as soon as possible.
 
 Wenger is a fan of his compatriot but he will be unlikely to make a move for the French playmaker.
 
 Wenger said: "I expect it to be a very quiet period.
 
 "We are very strong. We have many, many players who can come in.
 
 "I rate Payet but I don’t need Payet because we have so many creative players.
 
 "We have many players who can play in this position."
 
 Arsenal are fourth in the Premier League, eight points behind leaders Chelsea.
