Louis van Gaal can make Memphis Depay great at Manchester United, says Jaap Stam
 
JAAP STAM thinks Louis van Gaal can turn Memphis Depay into a world beater.
 
 Manchester United announced earlier today that they had struck a £25m deal with PSV to sign the sensational winger.
 
 Former Red Devil and fellow Dutchman Stam, thinks Van Gaal is the right man to bring Depay along and make him into a top player.
 
 Stam said: "Depay is very young and knowing the way van Gaal is as a manager, he gives young players their time to grow into the squad.
 
 "He has a lot of players [at his disposal] and sometimes Memphis will have his rests but that’s so he can really grow into the team.
 
 "The football capabilities he has are very important and he’s very confident in himself. That’s very important for him to succeed at United."
 
 Liverpool and Paris St-Germain were thought to be interested in signing the winger but United's Dutch connection looks to have made the difference.
