Done Deal: Manchester City complete £50m signing of Kyle Walker from Tottenham


 
KYLE WALKER has completed his £50m switch from Tottenham to Manchester City.
 
The full-back has signed a five-year contract at the Etihad and is delighted to have made the move.
 
 Walker said: “I am thrilled to be signing for City and can’t wait to get started.
 
 “Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected managers in the world and I feel he can help me take my game to a new level.”
 
 Walker leaves Spurs after six seasons at White Hart Lane.
 
 Txiki Begiristain, City's director of football, explained: “Kyle is a fine full-back, one capable of producing quality at both ends of the pitch.
 
 “We’ve followed his progress at Tottenham and have been really impressed by how he has developed. He is now one of the best right-backs in the Premier League and justifiably an England regular.
 
 “I am sure he will be a success at Manchester City this season and beyond.”
 
 Walker made 228 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions, scoring four goals, and last season helped them to second in the Premier League table.
 
 The right-back has 27 England caps to his name and will hope to be included in the squad for next summer's World Cup in Russia.
 
 Walker joins Bernardo Silva and Ederson as new arrivals at City as Pep Guardiola looks to overhaul his squad after a disappointing first season in England.
