Justin Thomas: Golf star reveals why he won't be SHAVING during The Open 2018
JUSTIN THOMAS isn’t planning on any close shaves at The Open.
The PGA champion has ditched the razor and will hope his new beard can prove to be a lucky charm.
Not that the 25-year-old from Louisville planned it that way – he insists the new look is all down to laziness.
Thomas said: “There’s no rhyme or reason behind it. I just had a little break, got a bit lazy and didn’t shave.
“I’d say it just kind of happened this way but I would love it to prove to be a lucky charm.”
Thomas believes he has the game to come out on top at Carnoustie, adding: “I feel like I’m a good links player event though I don’t have the record to back that up.
“I’ve only played two Opens, but I love it. I really hope to get my hands on that jug at least once or twice in my career. It’s very special.
“I can’t put into words how extremely special that would be. You need the complete game to win over here but it is such fun.”
