Blistering Mo Farah shows raw emotion in Anniversary Games win EMOTIONAL Mo Farah last night showed he still has the love of the British public with a blistering performance at the Olympic Stadium.
It has been a stressful two months since doping allegations were made by the BBC's Panorama programme about Farah's coach Alberto Salazar, who denies all the claims.
Farah, who has not been accused of any wrongdoing, was cheered by 40,000 fans in Stratford as he claimed victory in the men's 3,000m with a world leading mark of 7:34.66.
Farah, who celebrated by copying Usain Bolt's 'lightning bolt' pose, said: "The crowd were amazing. The support they have given me has been incredible. It's great that the public understand. I'm pleased with this win. I went out there and did what I do best, which is run."
Bolt justified his appearance fee, believed to be upwards of £200,000, as the Jamaican sent out a warning to the world leader Justin Gatlin.
The Olympic champion showed that he is hitting form at just the right time with a final and semi-final display of 9.87secs into a headwind amid wet conditions, his fastest runs since September 2013.
Britain's CJ Ujah, who was fourth in the final, equalled his personal best time of 9.96secs.
Bolt said: "Overall it was a good run but my start was poor. It's all about hard work and dedication, keeping pushing myself. If I work on my start, I'll be fine. This is wonderful, it's beautiful. I love this crowd. I enjoy competing here."
