CARLOS TEVEZ set up Manchester City’s winner last night after returning from six months in the wilderness.

Second-half sub Carlos Tevez sent through Samir Nasri to fire home an 85th-minute winner on his first apperance since being sent into exile for refusing to go on in a Champions League tie at Bayern Munich.

Gary Cahill had stunned City when he scored with a defl ected shot on the hour.

But second-half sub Michael Essien handled Pablo Zabaleta’s shot for Sergio Aguero to drill the equaliser from the penalty spot.

And then up stepped Tevez to complete his fairytale return as City closed to within a point of leaders Manchester United.
