CHELSEA APPROACH MALAGA BOSS MANUEL PELLEGRINI

CHELSEA will turn to Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini if they can't lure Jose Mourinho back to Stamford Bridge.

The 'Special One' is set to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season after a series of high-profile spats with his squad.

And it is thought many at Chelsea are keen to see the Portuguese coach return to west London this summer.

But the Champions League winners have also been quietly approaching alternative targets, should a move for Mourinho prove unsuccessful.

Current interim boss Rafa Benitez is believed to have ruined his own chances of landing the job on a permanent basis due to Chelsea's recent stuttering form.

Pellegrini is well-regarded by advisers of Blues owner Roman Abramovich.

The Chilean has guided Malaga into the last 16 of the Champions League this term, despite financial turmoil at the club.

And Pellegrini has also led the Andalusian side into fourth in the La Liga table.

According to Spanish TV station Punto Pelota, Chelsea have made contact with the 59-year-old in recent days.

The vastly-experienced coach would no doubt be tempted by a switch to the Premier League

More of Malaga's stars are set to be sold at the end of the season and the club is facing a ban from European competition due to their money woes.
