Chelsea boss Antonio Conte gives David Luiz injury and transfer updates amid Arsenal link
ANTONIO CONTE has hinted David Luiz could be sold this month if Chelsea can find a replacement.
The Blues defender faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge.
While Arsene Wenger played down links with Arsenal earlier, Starsport understands Luiz is a key target for Arsenal.
The London rivals go head-to-head tomorrow night (7.45pm), but the Brazilian will miss out through injury (knee).
While he is recovering well, Conte confirmed, the 30-year-old may not hang around much longer in west London.
“David has improved a lot his physical condition,” Conte said.
“The last couple of days he worked with us and he could be in contention for the Norwich game.
Luiz could feature on Saturday when Chelsea visit Carrow Road for their FA Cup third round tie with Championship outfit Norwich (5.30pm).
On a potential switch to Arsenal, though, Wenger claimed: “I don’t want to speak about any names, but these reports are wrong.”
Reports this morning suggested the Gunners have tabled a £28m bid to Chelsea for Luiz.
