CHELSEA EYE NEWCASTLE ACE DEMBA BA AS DANIEL STURRIDGE REPLACEMENT

CHELSEA boss Roberto Di Matteo is keen to bring in Newcastle striker Demba Ba as a replacement for wantaway star Daniel Sturridge.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are all interested in England international Sturridge, who has been told he can leave Stamford Bridge in January if his £15m price tag is met.

But Di Matteo will not sanction the move unless he can first add to his forward line.

And the Blues boss has let owner Roman Abramovich know he is eager to land Ba.

The 27-year-old is available for a cut-price £7m thanks to a buy-out clause in his contract.

Chelsea would also be willing to match his £100,000 per week wage demands, which have proven a stumbling block for Liverpool's own bid for the Senegal international.
