Dutch star Memphis Depay reveals which Man United legend he wants to emulate MEMPHIS DEPAY has yet to officially join Manchester United, but is already aiming to emulate Old Trafford legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
Depay has drawn comparisons to the Portuguese winger for his agility, flair and flamboyant style of play.
However Depay is under no illusions and knows it will take time for him to reach the level of the three-time Ballon d'Or winner.
He said: "I heard Leroy Fer speak about it and it is great to hear that from other players.
"If you read it in the media it is great, but I am 21 and I have not reached the level of Cristiano Ronaldo.
"He is a big hero for me and one day I hope to reach that level. He scores so many goals and I want to fight to be one of the best players in the world."
Depay was responding to comments made by compatriot Leroy Fer, he described him as fearless.
He said: " He's not as tall as Ronaldo, but he's still strong, and he's got the same ability, scoring goals and he's quick.
"He won't be scared and that's what I like about him, he isn't scared. He will enjoy this comparison (with Ronaldo) and he will be a big player."
